Overview
Dulux Trade Weathershield Maximum Exposure Masonry Paint is formulated for professionals, to provide a maximum weather shield in even the harshest of environments. Unique properties give the paint a tough film that's up to 5 times more flexible than conventional masonry paints. This covers hairline cracks and stops flaking and cracking from occurring.
The new formulation has an improved active ingredient to inhibit mould and algae growth and allow the paint to stay cleaner for longer. In addition, the Anti-Fade technology ensures that the finish retains its colour for longer too.

Preparation
For best results, make sure surfaces are sound, clean and dry.
- It is particularly important that new surfaces are completely dry. Wash down previously painted surfaces with a detergent solution to remove dirt, grease and chalking paint where practicable. Rinse off with clean water and allow to dry.
- Carefully scrape back to a firm edge all areas of poorly adhering or defective coatings and rub down thoroughly to ‘key and feather’ broken edges of existing coatings.
- Remove and treat any mould, algae, lichen or moss with fungicidal wash. Make good minor defects with an appropriate filler. Larger holes and cracks require a sand and cement mix.
- Dulux Trade Weathershield Maximum Exposure Masonry Paint is suitable for surfaces previously painted with masonry paint, including solvent-based finishes.
Application
Stir thoroughly before, we recommend to perform a test patch to ensure you are happy with the finished results.
- Do not apply in relative humidity exceeding 80°C, temperatures below 7°C, foggy conditions, or when rain is forecast.
- Stir thoroughly. Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned first coat of Weathershield Maximum Exposure Smooth Masonry of up to 1 part water to 5 parts paint.
- The general finishing process is 2 full coats, but on previously painted surfaces where the colour is similar, one coat may be enough.
- Where a special process colour is to be used, or where a strong colour change is required, more coats will be needed.
Note: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.
